All About Me

What do you offer?

Handcrafted, upcycled products made from reclaimed and donated textiles, including adult and children’s clothing, bags, pouches, accessories, home décor, seasonal décor, and graphic tees.

What do you want customers to know about you?

I want customers to feel the heart behind every piece from Laurie Jean’s Studio. Each item is made with care, intention, and love — created as a way to honor loss, celebrate creativity, and find beauty in second chances. My hope is that customers feel a sense of connection and warmth, knowing their purchase supports healing, sustainability, and meaningful handmade work that carries a story beyond the stitches.

What I’d like customers to know is that every piece from Laurie Jean’s Studio is created with intention, care, and meaning. My designs are not mass-produced — they are thoughtfully handcrafted using reclaimed and donated textiles, making each item truly one of a kind. Sustainability isn’t a trend for me; it’s the foundation of how and why I create.
This business is deeply personal and was born from love, loss, and healing. Laurie Jean’s Studio is named in honor of my sister and family members I’ve lost, and each design is a way of remembering them through creativity and purpose. When customers choose my work, they’re not only selecting something unique and responsibly made — they’re also helping honor my family’s legacy while supporting a small, woman-owned studio rooted in care, creativity, and second chances

Why did you begin your business?

Laurie Jean’s Studio began as a way to heal through creativity after the loss of my sister Laurie in 2022 to pancreatic cancer. Creating with my hands has always been part of my life, rooted in a family tradition of restoring and reimagining what already exists. During a period of deep loss, returning to sewing became both comfort and purpose.
The studio is named in honor of Laurie and her ability to see beauty and possibility in unexpected places. Using donated and reclaimed textiles, I create one-of-a-kind clothing, accessories, and décor that give new life to forgotten materials. Each piece reflects resilience, sustainability, and the belief that meaningful things can come from what others might overlook.
